Looking to understand the impacts of diversity, equity, and inclusion when working with young children and their families? Your colleagues? Progress starts with YOU and requires constant and consistent practice and reflection. In this three-hour cultural sensitivity training, we discuss levels of cultural understanding and why increased cultural sensitivity is important to our work. We will explore potential barriers and how to overcome them in pursuit of increased personal cultural sensitivity. Also, we will introduce reflective practices that can be helpful when mitigating cultural conflict. Participants will engage in discussions and activities and will leave with increased awareness around and strategies for creating culturally inclusive relationships and environments.
