Colorado Ballet Dances at Clayton

Our preschool students from our school and home-based programs enjoyed a special performance featuring artists of Colorado Ballet! Students watched excerpts from ballets based on folk tales and literary classics, including The Nutcracker, while learning about the history and evolution of ballet.

Why are we so excited to share the magic of ballet with our little ones? It’s more than just tutus and pointed toes (though we love those, too!).

Watching ballet is a sensory superpower for a preschooler’s growing brain. Think of it as a "multisensory feast" where music, storytelling, and incredible physical movement all come together.

By watching the dancers, our children get to see how the human body can tell a story and share "big feelings" without saying a single word. Whether it’s the joy of a high leap or the quiet focus of a spin, ballet shows them that emotions can be expressed through art, discipline, and grace. It’s a beautiful way to help them understand their own bodies—and their own feelings—in a whole new way!

Thank you to the talented artists of Colorado Ballet for such a memorable visit!
