Clayton Cares

In response to COVID-19, and in alignment with state and city Stay at Home orders, Clayton Early Learning closed its Educare Denver school and all offices in early March. Unable to serve children and families on a daily basis, the organization kicked off its Clayton Cares Drive-Through program to help meet the nutritional and educational needs of Clayton families.

On Friday afternoons, the families served by Clayton Early Learning are invited to participate in a drive-through distribution program that allows them to pick up food, toys and educational materials to help sustain them through the Stay at Home order.  During the first three weeks of the program, Clayton distributed 6,044 meals, 257 boxes of fresh and non-perishable foods, more than 600 toys and books, 200 at-home learning kits, and thousands of diapers, wipes and other essential supplies.

These efforts have been made possible through a number of community partnerships with organizations such as the Denver Emergency Food Network, Denver Food Rescue, Revolution Food (sponsored by Food Bank of the Rockies) and Totes of Hope bags from Food Bank of the Rockies.
