Colorado Community College of Denver

Early Childhood Education Program Mission Statement

The mission of the Community College of Denver Early Childhood Education Program is to prepare caring, competent, committed educators who are dedicated to working with young children and who are leaders in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education

Self-Study Reflections:
  • Accreditation provided a framework for self-study and action research. These efforts were the catalyst for program improvements and building knowledge, relationships, and assessment capacity.
  • The self-study process helped focus attention on how to provide a well-rounded educational program for students who have limited proficiency in English.  In addition to students whose primary language is Spanish,  the program serves students whose primary language is Arabic, Farsi, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Hebrew, Italian, French, Russian, German, Thai, African dialects and American Sign Language.

The program continues to their refine their original self-study in preparation for a site visit in the future.
