Clayton Early Learning Celebrates Diversity with Culture Night
DENVER - Dec. 10 - Clayton Early Learning, Colorado's leader in early childhood education, research and training, provides an inclusive environment for children of all backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. To celebrate and honor the diversity of its children and families while cultivating caring, human connections, Clayton Early Learning will host its annual Culture Night on Thursday, Dec. 18.
From 5:30 to 7 p.m. at both the Clayton Educare and Far Northeast campuses, Clayton children and their families will explore the many cultures of Clayton Early Learning through this year's theme of art.
Culture Night provides developmentally appropriate experiences to build children's foundational knowledge of culture and nurture their positive self-image. The evening creates an interactive and visual experience for Clayton's children, families and staff to prompt a deeper thinking by delving into the shared subject of art, which is an element of all cultures but experienced differently among them.
"Understanding the diverse worldviews, traditions and cultures of the families who are part of Clayton Early Learning is imperative to strengthening and improving our work in the community," says Clayton President and CEO Charlotte Brantley. "Because art is an aspect of every culture, yet experienced so differently, it provides an ideal springboard for helping children and their families understand how they can relate to others."
Families and staff were invited to vote on a cultural theme to showcase during this year's Culture Night, and they chose art. The intent was to promote understanding and harmony by focusing on a theme that all cultures share but experience and express differently through recognizing and building on the unique strengths, values, and goals of Clayton Early Learning's children, families and staff.
The media is invited to RSVP to experience the celebration and sharing of cultures at the Culture Night event. RSVP by contacting Jacquelyn Gutc of Capital City PR at 810.614.4754 or Jacquelyn @ capitalcitypr.com.
