Clayton CEO Testifes on Early Childhood Component of School Finance Bill (SB13-213)
SB13-213 seeks to overhaul the Colorado’s school finance system by modernizing the way Colorado funds education, strategically investing in great teachers and leaders, and making funding transparent and accountable. Part of the proposal includes increasing access to half-day preschool for all at-risk 3- and 4-year olds and extending full-day kindergarten to all Colorado families who choose it. Charlotte Brantley testified as part of a panel of experts on the importance of quality early childhood education affirming that “increased access to the Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) is a critical step forward to ensure children are ready for kindergarten and are successful throughout their academic career.”
