Educare Denver Outcomes

The synergy of research, practice and training is evident in our comprehensive approach to evaluation and data-driven enhancement of Educare Denver programming.  We closely track the quality of our classrooms and teaching practices, and the progress of each child, with a variety of assessment tools.  Information about individual children’s progress is shared with teachers and parents.  Aggregate information is shared with Educare leaders, staff and other stakeholders to guide continuous improvement efforts and to celebrate accomplishments.

Snapshots from the 2009-10 school year indicate that Educare Denver is providing a high-quality program for the families it serves and that the children make progress while in the program.

Percent of Infants and Toddlers Demonstrating Above Average Early Communication Skills

Becoming an effective communicator is an important developmental task throughout life, but particularly in the infant and toddler period. In Winter 2010, 60 percent of children were demonstrating above-average communication skills. In the Summer of 2010, we looked at two groups of children. Nearly two-thirds of those in the program since winter were demonstrating above-average communication skills. This is in contrast to the 45 percent of children who were new to the program in the Summer of 2010. One would expect about half of children in the general population to score above-average on this assessment.
