Shelly is the Program Manager for the Ready to Read Project and the Play and Learn Program. Her current responsibilities include leading two-generation projects and promising approaches to P-3 education reform efforts across a variety of early learning sectors (within school, home and community based settings). Prior to this role, Shelly was a Mentor Coach at Educare Denver, one of ten national Head Start Centers of Excellence where she was integral to the development and implementation of an evidence-based professional development system and infant/toddler curriculum called Learning Through Relating. She began her career as a child development specialist with a Wave One Early Head Start Program in Iowa. In the last thirteen years, she has worked as teacher, child family educator, literacy coach and program manager at Clayton Early Learning. Shelly has a BS in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Child Services. She is a graduate of the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program and has her MA in Educational Administration from the University of Denver.
