Dr. Rebecca Soden, EdD is a passionate advocate for P-20 education reform. Her career in early learning spans two decades with experience teaching and implementing programs for children birth to five and their families, including Early Head Start, Head Start and two multi-site Early Reading First projects. Her leadership includes developing projects to ensure teacher preparation and in-service learning for educators of young children is robust, relevant and evidence-based. She provides vision and oversight for Clayton Early Learning Schools along with the Research, Evaluation and Professional Development serviced offered through Clayton Early Learning. Her work has a special focus on building organizational systems that support data-utilization within schools and non-profits to improve student and family outcomes. Dr. Soden’s scholarly research interests include exploring the complexity of children’s school readiness in relationship to family engagement, teacher-child interactions and language development. She serves on the P-3 Subcommittee of the Colorado Early Childhood Leadership Commission and is faculty on the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program Design Team. She has a MS degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She holds a Doctorate in Leadership for Educational Equity P-20 from the University of Colorado – Denver.
