In the role of Policy Specialist, Lauren coordinates public policy efforts on behalf of Clayton Early Learning; including direct legislative advocacy, research and information dissemination, and serving as a content expert on national and statewide early childhood advisories and councils.

Before working at Clayton, Lauren was a policy associate with the Education Program at the National Conference of State Legislatures and covered K-12 policy issues including school safety and discipline, curriculum and standards, the achievement gap, and international education, as well as staffed the NCSL Standing Committee on Education. She also previously worked in Colorado public policy through positions with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Governor John Hickelooper’s office, and staffing for several members of the Colorado General Assembly.

Lauren graduated cum laude from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies. She currently serves on the board of the Young Education Professionals Colorado chapter and was a selected member of the Leadership Development group at the National Conference of State Legislatures. She is the incoming co-chair of the Early Childhood Summit, a coalition of statewide leaders in child development and early learning.
